ST. CECILIA SCRIP PROGRAM INFORMATION

I want you to know how much Scrip helps St. Cecilia School and why it really is the no-brainer fundraiser, and how easy it is to participate. With the support of each and every family, we can raise money to help provide top notch education, materials and services to our children while helping to keep tuition costs down. So please read on!

What is Scrip? Simply put - gift cards! Our school purchases gifts cards from the Scrip Center for less than face value and sells to our families at face value, thus earning a profit, usually based on a percentage (varies by vendor). Vendors available include many of the same ones that most of us already patronize, including Safeway, Lucky's, Guerra Meats, Classic Designs, See's Candies, Chevy's, Starbucks, Macy's, Peet's, Borders, GAP, Walgreens, and more. They are the actual gift cards that you would get if you bought them directly from the vendor. It's really an easy way for our school to earn $$$ through your purchases.

Example: for one Starbucks $25 gift card — St. Cecilia purchases it for $23.25 from the Scrip Center — we sell it to you for the face value of $25, which is what you'd pay if you bought that same card at Starbucks. So we just made $1.75 (or 7%) on that one gift card alone! This may not seem like much at first but it adds up fast!

Order forms are available here, as well as on our e-newsletter that comes out every Wednesday, and I have enclosed one here for you. When you are ready to order scrip simply print a form, complete it and attach a check payable to St. Cecilia Scrip and return it to the school office Thursday morning. Orders are filled every Thursday and will arrive home via your oldest child's backpack (or the rectory or school office if you indicate that on the order form.) If we are out of stock of a particular item that you have ordered and paid for, I will order it that afternoon and it will be available for you the following Thursday.

What is eScrip? eScrip is another way for our school to earn $$$. eScrip is an organization which administers and tracks purchases made by its members at any of the participating eScrip merchants. Members of eScrip receive a quarterly statement of all purchases. Our school receives a monthly statement of profits generated by your supporting those merchants. For more ways to help our school, please remember to renew your grocery and debit cards on eScrip. If you are not yet enrolled, registration is free and easy. I can also help you with this.

Luckys S.H.A.R.E.S. cards S.H.A.R.E.S. is an acronym for Supporting Humanities, Arts, Recreation, Education & Sports in our community. Help our school earn 3% on your purchases at Lucky Supermarkets. Simply swipe the S.H.A.R.E.S. card before paying for your groceries (whether you pay by cash, check, credit, debit or gift card). There is no actual monetary value to the S.H.A.R.E.S. card and if you use it along with your Lucky's gift card that you bought from our scrip program — it's like double-dipping. It's that easy!
