Dear Families,

We are one week closer to Christmas break and the excitement has made its way into the halls. Thank you to those who brought in Toys for Tots already this week, we will continue collecting toys until Friday, December 13. Classes with 100% participation will earn free dress!

I would also like to welcome two new members to our staff. I am happy to introduce a new Learning Specialist, Mrs. Alexandra Maliniak as well as Mr. Felix Linares, who will be joining us as our new custodian/facilities person. If you see them around campus, please give them a big SC welcome!

7th Grade Confirmation

Initial Confirmation meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 pm and Monday, December 16 at 7:00 pm. If your child will be receiving the sacrament this year, parents must attend one of the two options.

Holiday SCRIP is HERE!

What is SCRIP? SCRIP is an opportunity for you to get gift cards to use for your holiday shopping or give as gifts instead of cash, while helping our school raise money. For each card you order our school gets a percentage back! This year we will ONLY be asking you to participate during the HOLIDAYS, so get your orders in early.

SAVE the DATE: January 31, 2020
MULTICULTURAL DAY

Every year St. Cecilia School celebrates the many cultures that make up our community. This year, Multicultural Day will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020.

Students will share their unique cultural traditions on stage at the Multicultural Showcase. Help your children reflect on their cultural traditions as they share a song, dance, poem, or other talent to showcase their culture. Rehearsal schedule will be announced soon. A Food Fair is arranged for the students to try food from all over the world for lunch. Start pulling out your recipes now and get ready to bring in a dish that represents your culture at this delicious event. Click HERE for more details. Parish Items


St. Cecilia Chinese Club

The St. Cecilia Chinese Club will be holding our 2nd general meeting at the Collins Center (2560 18th Ave) on Friday, December 13th, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. We would like to invite you to come and join us. This will be a potluck event, and ALL (including children) are welcome. Please bring a favorite dish to share or just come and join the fun. The Chinese Club will provide desserts, drinks and cookie decorating activities for the kids.

Volunteer Opportunities


Children's Faith Formation Program

Our Children’s Faith Formation Program (CFF) is looking for volunteer teachers for 2nd grade and substitute teachers for the program. Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM from October to May. First day of class is October 6. If you like working with children and are able to give 1-2 hours a week to this important parish ministry.

Hot Lunch

Moms, Dads, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, and uncles! Hot Lunch is a fun way to volunteer at the school. Volunteers must complete the Live Scan fingerprinting and the Virtus online course first.

Drive Through

Drive through volunteers ensure the safety of everyone during the drop-off and pick-up process in the school yard. Shifts are short and fun. Signup HERE.
