A WORD OR TWO FROM MRS. GARCIA

The excitement is mounting for the State Fair Festival. Be sure to find your perfect Volunteer Spot!

The Mothers Club and Men of St. Cecilia enjoyed full houses at their initial meetings! I want to thank both groups for their undivided attention to St. Cecilia School! They truly anticipate our needs and work to turn needs into successes!

The School Calendar was transferred to the School Speak platform on Monday. HOWEVER - we discovered that there is a hidden calendar filling in the School Speak Calendar. I am so sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify a few items:
YES, there is school on Monday, October 1st; the date for First Holy Communion is yet to be determined; the date for Confirmation should be finalized in late November. As we try to dislodge the hidden calendar, I appreciate your patience! The School Speak Calendar will be our official school event calendar.

I realize that parents of younger students are often anxious about delivering their little learner to class. Please, in the morning usher him or her to the Auditorium if you arrive before 7:45am. There are certified Staff members in place waiting to watch your child. We ask that Parents stay out of the Auditorium. If you want to stay with your child, then remain outside near the benches.

On a very important note: Adults are not permitted to be in Student Restrooms during school time or events. Please understand that this is a critical part of our VIRTUS Program – Safeguard the Children. Thank you for understanding.

The initial step in STAR Testing is completed. We will be evaluating data as we prepare for the next step in November. Each of these assessments encourages us as teachers to recognize the strengths and needs of our students so that we can make appropriate adjustments in curriculum planning.

Monday is the first day of October. October is the month of the Holy Rosary; the Rosary is the prayer for peace. Take a moment to pray a decade for international peace, national peace, and peace within our personal communities.

Joy,

Mrs. Garcia
