Congratulations, SF Giants! National League West Champions!
Let your SC spirit spill over to the SF Giants! Friday October 8 is Giants Spirit Day at St. Cecilia, a free dress day for Giants fans. You may wear anything SF Giants or orange and black to show your team spirit. Let's root those Giants on to victory! GO GIANTS!

Third Grade St. Anne School Student In Need of Bone Marrow
A third grade student at St. Anne School, Christian Lew, was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia in late August. Aplastic anemia is a blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow stops producing blood cells. Christian is currently receiving multiple transfusions to sustain him. The best option would have been for him to receive a bone marrow transplant from a family member. Unfortunately, no family member was a match. In the meantime, Christian is undergoing immuno-suppressant drug therapy.

The final option left is to find a bone marrow donor. St. Anne School will hold a Bone Marrow Screening on October 7, at St. Anne School, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The screening is simple. Donors must be between 18 - 60 and be in good health. Donors will fill out a consent form and do a cheek swab! That's it for the screening. In approximately 10 minutes you could save a life. Click Here for more information.

School Pictures
If your child was absent on the original School Picture Day, missed the opportunity to purchase pictures, or needs to have his/her picture re-taken, Make-Up Picture Day will be on Thursday, October 21, at 8:30 A.M.

NEW PURCHASES: If your child has not yet had his/her picture taken, now is your opportunity. Call the school office, and we will send home an information packet.

RE-TAKES: If you desire a re-take, you must return the complete package to the school office before Tuesday, October 19.

Halloween
So that you can plan ahead -- all students may wear costumes to school on Friday, October 29. But, remember they must be simple so that the children can sit in their desks and can go to the restrooms. NO VIOLENT CHARACTERS; NO BLOOD AND GORE; NO CROSS DRESSING! ALL COSTUMES MUST BE MODEST (no bare midriffs, no mini skirts, no low-cut tops) and in good taste. No costumes are allowed which: show disfigurement of the human face or body depict boys dressed as girls or women imitate "heavy metal" music groups that advocate violence All must use sensitivity towards people of other cultures and those less fortunate. No students should have "weapons" as part of their costume.

Any child who comes to school with an inappropriate costume will be sent home to change. If children choose NOT to wear costumes, they must wear their school uniform.

All parents are welcome to the parade of classes at 11:10 A.M. in the schoolyard. Dismissal is at the regular time (3:00). In the afternoon, the eighth grade will sponsor a mini Halloween carnival for Grades K-3 in the auditorium. No money is necessary for this fun event!

You can contribute at four levels: Laughing Sal Level at $400, Big Dipper Level at $200, Fun House Level at $150, Sutro Baths Level at $100. All donations graciously accepted and it's a great way to show support or advertise your business. Silent Auction
Although the Silent Auction has some great items already, including Tahoe vacation homes, fabulous restaurants, sports tickets and retail shop certificates, we need more donations to make it a success! Here's our wish list: Gift certificates to restaurants, retail stores, spas; vacation rentals; tickets to sporting events (Giants, Niners, Warriors) and theatre; wine or liquor; and Christmas themed items. Drop off your tax deductible donations along with the form (Click here) to the church rectory by Oct. 8, or bring gift certificates by the Mother's Club meeting on Oct. 7. This is the perfect opportunity to clear your home of those not-quite-right gifts (new only), never-used purchases, and miscellaneous gift cards you don't need! PARENTS AND COACHES
This is a reminder that there are NO parents or siblings allowed in the gym during practice no matter what the weather is like outside. Complaints have been received that parents are watching practices from inside the Pavilion, this makes the players and coaches nervous. If this continues, doors will be locked during all practices. This is a parish policy that must be followed. Also, please respect the other team that is sharing the gym with your team during practices. Thank you.

ATTENTION PARENTS and STUDENTS:
This is a reminder that anything left in the pavilion will be held for 2 weeks. If the items are school apparel they will be left in the lost and found box in the school hallway. All other items that are not collected within the 2 weeks will be donated to charity. Thank you.
