MINIMUM DAY - 12:30 Dismissal
Monday, September 26 Teacher In-Service

INTERNET POLICY
Yesterday each student in Grs. 2-8 received a copy of the Archdiocesan Model Policy and Parent/User Contract Pertaining to the Acceptable Use of Internet and Electronic Information Resources. During computer class, Mr. Ide, our Technology Coordinator, will explain this policy to each class.
Please discuss this policy with your child. Each parent and student should sign the form and return it to the child’s classroom teacher by Friday, September 23.

STANDARDIZED TESTING
We began standardized testing for Grades 2-8 on Monday, September 19 will continue through the week. Children should be well rested and have a nutritious breakfast! Students should not be leaving for appointments on these days.

CROSSING 18TH AVENUE
Parents, we ask that you do not cross in the middle of 18th Avenue. Jose is not a crossing guard! His job is to direct traffic, and that is a full-time job. We have a crossing guard on the corner of 18th Avenue and Vicente St., so please take advantage of his services.

MUSIC NEWS
There are still openings for private music lessons for the recorder, flute, clarinet, and piano at all grade levels. The string department (guitar, violin) is fully enrolled. If you study the piano, the piano in your home needs to be a traditional, acoustic piano (not an electronic piano). Click here for the Music Registration form, and click here for the Music Make-up Policy.

Please download these forms, complete them, and send along with your music tuition check to the school office. Please download an extra copy of these forms for your reference.

Questions: Contact Bonnie Knight at musicroom8@aol.com (Bonnie's telephone is out of service for one week during a move.) The music faculty welcomes the chance to guide your child on his/her music journey.

SCHOOL PICTURES
If your child was absent on the original School Picture Day, missed the opportunity to purchase pictures, or needs to have his/her picture re-taken, Make-Up Picture Day will be on Thursday, October 20, at 8:30 A.M.

New Purchases: If your child has not yet had his/her picture taken, now is your opportunity. Call the school office, and we will send home an information packet.

SNACK BAR
The S.C. Athletic Board would like to cheer all of you that came out this weekend and supported our talented volleyball players and the 2011 grand opening of the Snack Bar. We had a hugely successful first weekend and are looking forward to this Friday night! For this Friday Night's Special we will feature our BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich.
Come and get it!

"Helpful Hint" for the parents in charge of team snack: consider our snack bar for your food and drink needs. It may cost a bit more than the grocery store, but keep in mind that all of the proceeds from the Snack Bar go directly to our kid's athletic program-a very worthwhile cause. Thank you again, and we will see you at the Pavilion!

ATTENTION ALL VOLLEYBALL FANS
As we begin the volleyball season, this is a reminder that no one is allowed to sit on the stage. Thank you and we hope to see you at the games cheering on the girls!

ADULT FAITH FORMATION
The St. Cecilia Adult Faith Formation is offering a session on Monday afternoons 1:15 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. in the Convent from October 3 through November 7 facilitated by Sally Holper. Please call or email if you would like to join us at 415-845-5795 or sally.brien@earthlink.net

We will discuss The Ignatian Tradition (Spirituality in History) by Eileen Burke-Sullivan, paperback: 168 pages, Liturgical Press (October 2009), $12.44 @ Amazon

This introduction is a mere sampling of the men and women influenced by Ignatius and draws on the stories and writings of nineteen exemplary individuals as well as the corporate voice of the Jesuit order. Here we meet missionaries, scholars, artists, advocates, and martyrs. Contemplatives in action, they follow Christ by serving others. They embody the freedom born of a passionate knowledge of God's unending, unconditional love; precisely in this, they show us how to live well today.

FILM SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion. For more information go to http://www.dyslexia-ncbida.org/event.10.1.11.html
