CANCELLED: NEW PARENT MEETING, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10! Back to School Nights GRADES K-6 Wednesday, September 2 7:00 P.M. Meet in your child's homeroom. Children should not attend. GRADES 7 & 8 Thursday, September 9 7:00 P.M. Meet in your child's homeroom. You follow your child's daily schedule. Children should not attend. School Pictures Grades 5-8: Thursday, September 3 Grades K-4: Friday, September 4 School uniforms are worn for pictures, including the school sweater. Hair should be neat with bangs above the eyebrows. Hair should not be covering one side of the face! We want to see two eyes and two eyebrows! Boys’ hair should be above and not touching the shirt collar. Spiked hairstyles are not permitted. Jewelry Girls may wear a single post in each ear. Multiple earrings, hoop, or dangling earrings are not acceptable. Boys should not wear earrings. Necklaces/chains are not worn by boys or girls. Girls should not wear make-up. MACY'S SHOP FOR A CAUSE: Saturday, October 17, 2009! With a $5.00 donation you can receive a shopping pass to save 10-20% off most of your Macy’s purchases on Saturday, October 17! HOT LUNCH PROGRAM Remember our first Hot Lunch, catered by Nob Hill Catering will Tuesday, September 8. Click here for more information. To sign up for the Hot Lunch Program parents should request a login and password at www.nobhillcatering.com Your password will be emailed to you within 48 hours. You may also call 650-596-8008 to request a login and password over the phone. Parents must place their order at least 1 week ahead, and may change their order up to the day before! Parents may also order for up to two months at one time. Please print out lunch tickets for each child. We recommend that parents place them in a Ziploc bag in their child’s backpack, so that they will have them when they need them! Hot Lunch Volunteers! We need 7 volunteers each Tuesday & Thursday to assist students in picking up their meals. There is NO COOKING OR FOOD PREP! Volunteers are needed in the McKay Center from 11:00 A.M. until 1:15 P.M. Please mark those days that you are able to volunteer. You will receive confirmation notices via email. Thank you VERY much for helping! The dates for which we still need volunteers are: September 10, 15, 17, 22, 29 October 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 November 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 December 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17 Please email Kathryn_Ann@Dougery.com with the dates you are available to volunteer. IOWA Testing On Monday, September 21, we will begin IOWA Testing for Grades 2-8. Check the September calendar for the exact dates of the testing. Students should not be leaving for appointments on these days. Students with documented learning disabilities on file in the Principal’s Office are eligible for extended time. To qualify, the students’ testing evaluation must be current (within three years) and administered by a credentialed school psychologist or a licensed educational psychologist. Parents whose child qualifies for IOWA testing modifications will receive a letter next week with their child. If you have questions about this Archdiocesan policy, please contact Sister Marilyn. It was great to connect with everyone again and start the new school year off with stories and smiling faces. Friends of the Poor Walk The St. Vincent de Paul Society is sponsoring a the second annual “Friends of the Poor Walk” on Saturday, September 26. They will begin with an outdoor Mass at at 8:00 A.M. at the starting site and then walk to celebrate 150 years of service to the poor in San Francisco! This is a 5K walk around Lake Merced to raise awareness and funds for food, clothing, beds, and basic utilities for the poor who the St. Vincent De Paul Society serves in San Francisco.
