SCHOOL NEWS:March 31-April 13, 2010

Important Dates
* Holy Thursday, April 1 MINIMUM DAY

* Good Friday, April 2 NO SCHOOL
In keeping with the spirit of Good Friday, there should NOT be any children playing in the school yard between 12:00-3:00, on Friday, April 2.

There is a children's liturgy in the Lower Church from 12:00-1:30, and at 1:45 in the Church a group of junior high students will present the Passion from St. John's Gospel as part of the Solemn Good Friday Liturgy.

Good Friday Services
Parents, don't worry not about your children from 12:00 to 1:30! While you are in Church listening to Rev. Msgr. Terrence Sullivan's reflections on "Celebrating the Passion of Christ", our seminarian, Armando Gutierrez, assisted by junior high students, will have activities for your children in the Lower Church. Activities include painting, acting, and praying the Stations of the Cross. We welcome all ages, particularly Grades K-4.

* EASTER SUNDAY - APRIL 4th!

* Easter Vacation April 5-9
* School resumes--Monday, April 12

No More Tardies!
In checking the attendance records, it has come to my attention that many children are late to school, and some families are late on a regular basis. This is a problem for your child as well as the teacher and the other students in the room. Tardiness affects a student's academic performance and is disruptive to the classroom environment. Tardies will result in the following possible consequences: recess, lunch, and/or after school detention.

Last week we began an all-out effort to eliminate tardies. I am happy to announce that on Friday, March 26, there were NO tardies. To celebrate this unusual event, the students were given an extra recess!

Having your child at school by 8:00 A.M. will ensure that there are no more tardies!
Thank you for your support in this matter. Our goals cannot be met unless everyone works hard to build superior work habits, patterns, and responsibility.
